Adopt-a-Scholar

Adopt-a-Scholar (AAS) aims to assist the Department of Education with the massive task of building a better tomorrow for the next generation. We cater to the needs of the children at the school, with the aim of encouraging them to attend school on a daily basis. We have “adopted” approximately 4000 learners for the 2013 year. At the beginning of the year we supply top quality stationery packs which the learners use throughout the year. The stationery pack includes wax crayons, colour pencils, pens, pencils, eraser, sharpener, scissors, glue, paint sent with brush, fiber tip pens and ruler. During the winter season, we supply warm fleece blankets to the learners at the school which they take to their homes to keep warm.  We also make use the services of lay photographers to take individual pictures of the kids in the school and package them so they each receive a school photo (most disadvantaged schools do not have this luxury) sometime during the school year. We end off the year with a Christmas gift where we purchase toys and a Christmas stocking filled with sweets for each child in the AAS programme. This brings Christmas cheer to the learners who do not necessarily receive gifts for Christmas at home. We achieve this incredible programme with the assistance of the principals and teachers of the respective schools. The schools where the Adopt-a-Scholar project is currently active are:

•    Lotus Primary School - (Pretoria West)
•    Walter Sisulu Primary School (Olivenhoutbosch)
•    Umtholo Primary School (Zonkizizwe)
•    Alra Park Primary School (Nigel)
•    Happiness Primary School (Nigel)
•    Helenvale Primary School (PE)
•    Missionvale Primary School (PE)
•    Philip Nikiwe Primary School (PE)
